Well, you can't spend all of your holiday driving, or sitting in a car looking at the wonders of the world! How about some HORSE RIDING? - You (or the kids) can pony trek around Spiddal. But only in the Summer months. OR SAILING - in our beautiful Galway bay? You can hire, or bring your own boat. BOATING - Visit the pier and see the traditional currachs of the locals. Try out a boating expedition. Or ask us to arrange a kayaking lesson for you. LAZING - on the beach? We have two large sandy beaches. One with huge rock formation and building rocks. Great for the children's adventures play. (Adults can play too by pretending to help the children) HILL WALKING - Ireland is only a small country because we heaped up most of our land into mountains and hills! So there are plenty of hills to walk or climb. Guided walks are available of course. But you may take off on your own if you are experienced enough, either in groups or with a partner. Or even on your own. GOLFING: There are excellent and unusual courses locally to delight the visiting Golfer. With all the usual facilities. FISHING - Spiddal has it's own School of Angling . And there's a wealth of information and opportunity for good fishing in the sea. CHURCHES - Services are in Gaelic at Spiddal Church. But Furbo Church provides the homily in English and Gaelic. Bearna Church uses both languages. There are Churches of several denominations in Galway City. GALWAY CITY - City of theTribes. Medieval yet modern. Rich in both cultures. Laid back in the best of Irish tradition. Hotels, Restaurants, Pubs, Cafes, and Bistros, Theatres, Town Hall - all welcoming and varied. Traditional Irish to Jazz, latin, or whatever. It's all there. Have fun finding out where! Leisure facilities for children of all ages at Salthill. Tourist Information is available all over the city. If confused, ask the natives! Shop 'till you drop, Meet the Irish in the Roisin Dubh, the Quays and a million more pubs. And remember, an Irish Pub is not just a Pub, but good theatre and a university! Enjoy the ambiance, the Ceol agus Craic. FÁILTE GO GAILLIMH. Our welcome starts with your Call! |
